Ripple has announced a major expansion of its blockchain services in Brazil, spanning payments, custody, treasury operations, and the RLUSD stablecoin. The company confirmed new partnerships with local financial institutions and plans to apply for a Virtual Asset Service Provider license with Brazil's central bank to align with upcoming regulations.
Banking and Payment Use Cases
Ripple's global payment network has now processed over $100 billion across more than 60 markets. In Brazil, multiple institutions have adopted the platform for cross-border transactions: Banco Genial uses Ripple to offer same-day USD settlements, while Braza Bank has integrated the system for forex payments and issued a BRL-pegged stablecoin on the XRP Ledger. Nomad leverages Ripple to manage treasury flows between Brazil and the United States. Other firms such as Azify, Attrus, and Frente Corretora have also integrated Ripple for stablecoin conversion, cross-border settlements, and payment consolidation.
Custody and Tokenization
Ripple has introduced its custody services in Brazil through partnerships with local providers, offering compliance controls and asset security. CRX uses Ripple Custody to issue tokenized assets, with nearly $100 million already settled on-chain. Justoken, which has tokenized over $1.7 billion in assets on the XRP Ledger, plans to expand its institutional operations using Ripple's custody system. The platform integrates transaction monitoring tools and supports staking, aiming to streamline asset management under one roof.
RLUSD Stablecoin Expansion
Ripple confirmed that the market capitalization of its RLUSD stablecoin has surpassed $1.5 billion. Brazilian exchanges including Mercado Bitcoin, Foxbit, and Ripio already support the token, while Braza Bank, Banco Genial, and Attrus have integrated RLUSD into their systems, broadening access to regulated digital dollar infrastructure. Ripple also launched its treasury and prime brokerage services in the region, covering liquidity management, financing, and clearing. Ripple Prime, developed after the acquisition of Hidden Road, processes over $3 trillion annually. Ripple Treasury provides real-time liquidity and cross-border payment capabilities.
