Ripple’s development arm, RippleX, has submitted a major upgrade to the XRP Ledger lending protocol, known as LendingProtocolV1_1, for a validator vote, according to Techub News, citing U.Today. The proposed amendment is designed to launch native lending infrastructure on XRPL, adding a core lending framework directly to the network. The activation still depends on validator approval. If the proposal wins support from more than 80% of validators, the upgrade will go live two weeks later. At that point, XRP Ledger would add core lending functionality through the amendment. The update marks the next step in bringing native lending capabilities to XRPL, though activation is contingent on the voting threshold being met.
