Safe has launched Safenet Aegis on Ethereum, Gnosis Chain and Arbitrum, according to The Defiant. The rollout marks the first production-ready version of Safenet that can generate fees. Funding and the network launch had previously been approved by SafeDAO through proposal SEP 56.
Safenet separates transaction inspection from transaction authorization and is designed to provide transaction security verification for Safe multisig wallets and other smart accounts. The network is built around three participant roles. Sentinels inspect transactions, post USDC bonds and earn inspection fees denominated in USDC. Validators stake SAFE to secure the proof layer and receive SAFE rewards. Delegators can assign SAFE to Validators and take part in staking rewards.
Safe said Safenet Guard handles the onchain execution of proof results, while protocol parameters are governed by SafeDAO. The current Sentinel set includes OpenCover, IntentGuard, BlockSec and Candide. The Validator set includes Gnosis, Greenfield, Core Contributors and Safe Labs. Safe also said transaction inspection will later be integrated into Safe Wallet, where users will be shown inspection results during transaction review, and the system will be opened to other wallets built on Safe smart accounts.

Inspection and authorization are handled separately
Safenet separates transaction inspection from transaction authorization, providing transaction security verification for Safe multisig wallets and other smart accounts. Safenet Guard is responsible for executing proof results onchain, while protocol parameters are governed by SafeDAO.
Three roles make up the network
Safenet includes three participant roles: Sentinel, Validator and Delegator.
- Sentinels inspect transactions and stake USDC bonds. They receive inspection fees denominated in USDC.
- Validators stake SAFE to secure the proof layer and earn SAFE rewards.
- Delegators can delegate SAFE to Validators and share in staking rewards.
Initial participants and wallet integration plan
The current Sentinel set includes OpenCover, IntentGuard, BlockSec and Candide. The Validator set includes Gnosis, Greenfield, Core Contributors and Safe Labs.
Safe said transaction inspection will later be integrated into Safe Wallet, where inspection results will be shown during transaction review. The network will also support access for other wallets built on Safe smart accounts.
