WhiteLine Daily, a WuBlockchain publication, highlighted four AI-related developments spanning corporate earnings, data center revenue mix, capital deployment, and research infrastructure. Samsung Electronics said its preliminary guidance for the third quarter of 2026 points to revenue of about KRW 195 trillion, up 126.6% year over year, and operating profit of about KRW 107.4 trillion, or roughly $80 billion, up 782.5%. Both figures would mark record highs for the company. Applied Digital, an AI and HPC data center operator, reported FY2027 first-quarter revenue of $341.9 million, up 322% from a year earlier, with more than half of total revenue coming from tenant fit-out services tied to customer data hall delivery. According to The Information, NVIDIA has reached more than $140 billion in investments, financing support, and other transactions over the past two months, including a $105 billion credit guarantee. Separately, Biohub, the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Institutes of Health, Google DeepMind, Meta, and Isomorphic Labs have pushed total commitments tied to the Virtual Biology Initiative to $1.8 billion across funding, data, compute, and measurement technologies.

WhiteLine Daily, published by WuBlockchain, outlined four AI-related developments across earnings, data center monetization, capital commitments, and scientific infrastructure.

Samsung projects record third-quarter operating profit

Samsung Electronics released preliminary guidance for the third quarter of 2026, forecasting revenue of about KRW 195 trillion, up 126.6% year over year and 13.7% from the prior quarter. The company also expects operating profit of about KRW 107.4 trillion, roughly $80 billion, up 782.5% from a year earlier and 20.0% quarter over quarter. Both figures would be company records.

Samsung’s operating profit in the same period last year was KRW 12.17 trillion. The company said the current figures are still preliminary guidance, with detailed revenue and profit by business division to be disclosed in its formal earnings report.

WhiteLine Daily said the much faster rise in profit than revenue shows that higher memory prices and demand for premium products are having a larger effect on margins.

Applied Digital posts 322% revenue growth, with customer delivery services making up more than half

Applied Digital, an AI/HPC data center operator, reported FY2027 first-quarter revenue of $341.9 million, up 322% year over year.

HPC Hosting revenue totaled $262.6 million, including $65.8 million in base rent, $183.5 million in tenant fit-out services, and $13.3 million in customer cost reimbursements.

Based on WhiteLine Daily’s breakdown, tenant fit-out services alone accounted for about 53.7% of total company revenue, while base rent represented about 19.2%. Adjusted EBITDA for the quarter came in at $64.4 million.

WhiteLine Daily noted that the $183.5 million in data hall delivery-related revenue was close to 2.8 times the $65.8 million in base rent, indicating that the company’s revenue mix still leans heavily toward the build-out phase.

NVIDIA exceeds $140 billion in transactions over two months

According to The Information, NVIDIA has reached more than $140 billion in investments, financing support, and other transactions over the past two months. That total includes a $105 billion credit guarantee.

As of the end of July, NVIDIA held nearly $100 billion in equity investments and had about $25 billion in future investment commitments.

The report said NVIDIA is still looking for investment or acquisition targets in robotics, autonomous driving, and local AI model companies whose products can run directly on devices such as phones and PCs. It also said the company had discussed another $1 billion investment in humanoid robotics company Figure.

WhiteLine Daily said the more important figure may not be the headline transaction volume above $140 billion, but the nearly $100 billion in equity holdings and the roughly $25 billion in future commitments, since those amounts are closer to NVIDIA’s ongoing capital exposure.

Virtual Biology Initiative reaches $1.8 billion in combined support

Biohub, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the National Institutes of Health said they are expanding the Virtual Biology Initiative, which aims to use open experimental data to train AI models that can predict cellular responses. Total commitments across funding, data, compute, and measurement technologies now stand at $1.8 billion.

That figure includes a previously announced $500 million commitment from Biohub, more than $500 million from the Department of Energy over the next five years, a new $300 million contribution from Google DeepMind, Meta, and Isomorphic Labs, and NIH coordination of datasets and resources created through more than $500 million in prior federal research spending.

WhiteLine Daily said the $1.8 billion is not entirely new cash. The NIH portion mainly reflects data resources generated from earlier spending of more than $500 million. The key new step, it said, is the effort to unify scattered datasets into a standardized resource that can be used to train biology models.

Daily takeaway

WhiteLine Daily summarized the day’s main thread this way: Samsung posted 126.6% revenue growth and 782.5% operating profit growth; Applied Digital grew revenue 322%, but 53.7% of that came from tenant fit-out services; NVIDIA already holds nearly $100 billion in equity investments and has committed about $25 billion more; and Biohub and its partners have assembled $1.8 billion in funding, data, and compute resources for AI biology.

The publication framed those developments as four different ways AI demand is being translated into profit, construction revenue, capital deployment, and data resources.
