US regulators have opened a new chapter in crypto oversight. On June 22, the SEC and CFTC launched a 60-day joint public comment period focused on harmonizing data reporting frameworks for swaps and digital asset derivatives markets. The move is being watched closely because it signals a more coordinated regulatory approach between the agency overseeing much of the US capital market structure and the regulator responsible for derivatives and commodity-linked trading.

Regulatory alignment moves toward implementation

The initiative does not introduce final rules yet. Instead, it gives market participants a formal window to submit proposals on how reporting standards can be streamlined and better aligned across related markets. For exchanges, trading firms, and derivatives participants, a more unified framework could reduce duplicate reporting burdens while also increasing expectations around disclosure quality and consistency.

Macro calendar remains central for risk assets

At the same time, traders are watching a dense macro calendar. The Eurozone will release preliminary manufacturing and services PMI data on June 23. On June 25, the US is set to publish final annualized GDP for the first quarter, with expectations pointing to 1.6% growth. The same day will also bring PCE inflation data, with core annual inflation forecast at 3.3% and monthly inflation at 0.24%, while initial jobless claims are expected at 224,000. The source notes that Bitcoin holding above $64,000 has been interpreted by some as a sign that macro pressure may be easing, although liquidity conditions are still viewed cautiously.

DAO votes and token unlocks add to event risk

Governance activity is also picking up. Lido DAO is voting on the Staking Router v3 architecture, Ethereum Pectra alignment, the shutdown of certain multichain bridge endpoints, and leadership changes at the Lido Labs Foundation. Elsewhere, ssv.network DAO is considering ending part of its incentivized mainnet program on June 30, Goldfinch DAO is evaluating a gradual wind-down of Prime operations, and GnosisDAO is discussing a treasury asset buyback proposal.

On the supply side, several unlocks may draw attention. MegaETH Bridge is scheduled to unlock $13.71 million worth of tokens, equal to 2.5% of total supply, on June 22. Toncoin is set for a $59.63 million unlock, or 0.72%, on June 23. Humanity will unlock $52.67 million worth of tokens, representing 2.93%, on June 24. With regulation, macro data, governance decisions, and supply events all converging, the crypto market is likely to remain highly event-sensitive this week.
