Securitize said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korean technology company LG CNS to explore tokenized funds, stocks and stablecoin-related products, while working to support broader adoption of tokenized assets and digital asset infrastructure among Korean financial institutions. After the announcement, Securitize (SECZ) rose nearly 8% in early Tuesday trading to about $12.60 before trimming some of those gains. The announcement came as South Korea moves closer to a formal regime for security token offerings. The country’s Financial Services Commission last week proposed a regulatory framework that would govern the issuance and distribution of tokenized stocks, bonds and funds starting in February 2027. Around the same time, LG CNS launched a blockchain infrastructure platform aimed at supporting banks and financial institutions with stablecoin and tokenized securities services. Securitize is already a major platform in the real-world asset, or RWA, tokenization segment, a market currently valued at about $40 billion. As traditional financial firms step up efforts around on-chain equities, the tokenized stock market has grown 10.6% over the past 30 days to roughly $3.2 billion. CEO Carlos Domingo previously said that even limited adoption of tokenized equities could materially expand the size of the crypto market.

According to BIT (bit.com) market data on Oct. 7, tokenization platform Securitize said it had signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korean technology company LG CNS to explore products tied to tokenized funds, stocks and stablecoins. The companies also plan to promote the adoption of tokenized assets and digital asset infrastructure among financial institutions in South Korea.

After the announcement, Securitize (SECZ) climbed nearly 8% in early Tuesday trading to about $12.60, before giving back part of the move later in the session.

The development followed a policy step in South Korea. The country’s Financial Services Commission last week proposed a regulatory framework for security tokenization, with rules for the issuance and distribution of tokenized stocks, bonds and funds set to take effect from February 2027. During the same period, LG CNS rolled out a blockchain infrastructure platform designed to support banks and other financial institutions with stablecoin and tokenized securities-related services.

Securitize has become a key platform in the real-world asset (RWA) tokenization sector, where the market is currently valued at about $40 billion. As traditional financial institutions accelerate work on on-chain stocks, the tokenized stock segment has expanded 10.6% over the past 30 days to around $3.2 billion. Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo previously said that even limited adoption of tokenized equities could significantly increase the size of the crypto market.
