Securitize is bringing 12 U.S. stocks to Solana
Securitize said it is moving 12 U.S. equities onto the Solana blockchain, adding to the push to make traditional stocks available through crypto market infrastructure. In a Thursday press release shared with CoinDesk, the company said the new product, called Securitize Stocks, will initially include Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Netflix, Circle, Strategy and Palantir.
The firm said each stock token will be backed one-for-one by an actual share and structured to preserve economic benefits and applicable shareholder rights, including dividends and voting rights. Securitize said the tokens represent security entitlements rather than direct ownership on a company’s shareholder register, although conversion could become available if issuers adopt tokenization.
Trading starts on Securitize’s Solana-based PropAMM platform
At launch, the tokenized stocks will trade on Securitize’s existing Solana-based PropAMM platform. Jump Trading will provide liquidity, and transactions will settle in the USDC stablecoin.
RQD will support the clearing, custody and settlement infrastructure that links the tokenized shares to traditional securities markets. Ripple Prime said it plans to explore institutional uses for the assets.
NYSE and OKXICE are part of the next phase
Securitize said the stocks are also expected to trade on the New York Stock Exchange’s planned 24/7 digital trading platform and on the upcoming OKXICE Tokenized Securities Venue. OKXICE is a joint venture between Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the NYSE, and crypto exchange OKX.
Those expansions still depend on the venues launching and satisfying regulatory requirements.
Regulatory work and exchange plans are moving in parallel
The launch comes as U.S. regulators and established market operators examine how tokenized securities could fit into existing market structure. Last month, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission introduced what it called an “innovation exemption,” opening a path for new tokenized securities trading venues built on blockchain rails.
Separately, the ICE-OKX joint venture filed this week to introduce tokenized stock trading under the SEC’s framework, another sign that established exchanges are increasing their focus on blockchain-based securities markets.
Access is aimed at eligible investors in permitted markets
Securitize said eligible investors in the U.S., Europe and other permitted markets will be able to trade Securitize Stocks tokens. Trading will begin during extended market hours, with plans to expand to 24/7 access over time.
The broader push behind tokenized equities is to enable around-the-clock trading, faster settlement and the potential use of stocks as collateral in onchain lending markets.
What executives said
Carlos Domingo, chairman and CEO of Securitize, said: “The opportunity is to bring equities onchain without leaving behind the ownership, investor protections and market infrastructure that make U.S. capital markets work. Securitize Stocks are designed around that principle, while creating a bridge to a future where issuers themselves can participate directly in tokenization.”
Nick Ducoff, general manager of institutional at Solana Foundation, said: “Tokenized equities give investors around the world access to investments they might otherwise never have had the opportunity to participate in, at internet scale.”
