SeeDAO has formally restarted after nearly a year of pause. A restart proposal initiated by Baiyu was approved on June 17 by the existing nodes from the 12th Node Consensus Conference. The community also said it has fully returned all previous investors’ funds and that SeeDAO points clearing remains underway.

SeeDAO has announced its formal restart after a pause that lasted close to one year. Since last year’s 12th Node Consensus Conference, the community had pressed pause and entered a long period of exploration, discussion and experimentation. During that interval, members also discussed whether the community should be permanently shut down, but in the end they did not choose to take that step.

The announcement marked the return with the line, “Here we are, we’re back again.” Lizi described the pause as a collective holiday for community members, comparing it to a group of people who had worked for a long time and needed a proper break. In that framing, the gap and the rest were treated as a way to leave again with less burden and more ease.

Baiyu’s restart proposal approved by existing nodes

The restart was initiated through a voting proposal put forward by Baiyu. On June 17, the proposal was approved by the nodes from the 12th Node Consensus Conference, specifically the existing nodes. With that vote, SeeDAO’s restart became official. For a community that had spent nearly a year paused and had even discussed permanent closure, the vote re-established a shared decision to continue.

Investor funds returned as SeeDAO leaves its Web3 project phase

SeeDAO also stated that, as of now, it has fully returned the investment funds of all previous investors. The announcement said this marks SeeDAO’s complete farewell to its history as a Web3 project operator. According to the statement, the community no longer carries the pressure of having to answer to investors, nor does it need to continue financialized actions produced by that pressure.

The announcement expressed deep gratitude to the investors who had supported SeeDAO in the past. It also said that some investors, after learning that SeeDAO planned to return their investment funds, still expressed willingness to continue supporting the community. However, because SeeDAO’s next commercial prospects had not been clearly considered, that support was declined. The explanation given was that investors’ money is still money; if the narrative once believed in has already dimmed, and a new commercial direction has not yet been thought through, accepting those funds would be irresponsible.

The clearing of SeeDAO points is still being carried out at the same time. SeeDAO members who want to redeem points but have not yet done so can visit https://claim.seedao.xyz/ for the redemption process.
