Odaily reported that, in response to today’s Wall Street Journal disclosure alleging that Polymarket marketed to U.S. users through simulated trading and fake profit videos, “White-Haired Stock God” Serenity posted on X that prediction markets will face a large amount of additional regulatory review.
Serenity said regulators should also investigate how Polymarket pays marketing fees to KOLs for undisclosed paid commentary, and how such activity is used to manipulate algorithmic behavior on X. The statement focused on paid KOL promotion, whether promotional comments were disclosed, and how those comments may affect distribution on the X platform.
Serenity added that, as the most-subscribed user on X, they often receive this type of cooperation offer, but do not accept paid promotion in order to keep their personal research free from outside influence. In the comment section, Serenity also reiterated: “I only use X; all accounts on other platforms are scammers.”
