The system integrates the NIST-standardized post-quantum signature algorithm ML-DSA (standardized in 2024) with multi-party computation (MPC), allowing financial institutions to transition without overhauling existing infrastructure.
How It Works: MPC Meets Post-Quantum Cryptography
The vault replaces traditional elliptic curve signatures (e.g., ECDSA) with ML-DSA, a lattice-based cryptographic algorithm resistant to Shor's algorithm and other quantum attacks. MPC remains at the core, distributing private key control among multiple parties to eliminate single points of failure. Additionally, the vault leverages trusted execution environments (TEEs), such as Google Cloud Confidential Computing, to isolate sensitive signing operations within hardware-backed secure enclaves.
