Flight and hotel booking data tied to the 2026 Singapore Formula 1 race week came in below last year’s comparable booking window, according to Lianhe Zaobao, in a report cited by ChainCatcher. As of early September, flight bookings for race week were down 22.92% year over year. As of Sept. 21, hotel bookings for the race long weekend were about 14% lower than the same reservation stage a year earlier. Industry participants said two factors may have diverted part of the visitor flow: this year’s race does not overlap with China’s National Day Golden Week, and Malaysia’s Sepang round has returned after a nine-year absence and is scheduled for the previous week. Over the same period, TOKEN2049 Singapore is set for Oct. 7-8 at Marina Bay Sands. Organizers expect the event to attract more than 25,000 attendees.

Industry participants said this year’s race being scheduled outside China’s National Day Golden Week, along with the return of Malaysia’s Sepang round after nine years and its placement in the previous week, may have diverted part of the traffic.
