SK Hynix is set to release its second-quarter results on July 29, and market estimates point to record profitability following Samsung Electronics’ earlier earnings update. Data compiled by Yonhap Infomax from reports issued by 14 brokerage firms over the past month show SK Hynix is expected to post second-quarter revenue of KRW 84.0597 trillion and operating profit of KRW 64.0899 trillion. The projected operating profit would exceed the company’s full-year 2025 operating profit of KRW 47.2 trillion by roughly KRW 17 trillion. Combined with first-quarter operating profit of KRW 37.6103 trillion, SK Hynix’s first-half operating profit would surpass KRW 100 trillion. Earlier this month, Samsung Electronics said its DS division delivered operating profit of KRW 89.4 trillion in a preliminary earnings release. If SK Hynix meets current market expectations, the two South Korean memory chip makers would post more than KRW 150 trillion in combined operating profit for the second quarter.
