Solana Mobile Announces Native Token SKR Launch
Solana Mobile, a subsidiary of Solana Labs, has officially announced that it will launch its native token SKR in January 2026. This milestone marks a key step toward the maturity of the Web3 mobile ecosystem. SKR will serve as the native asset of the Solana Mobile ecosystem, providing control, economic benefits, incentives, and ownership to developers, users, and the entire ecosystem.
The total supply of SKR is 10 billion tokens, allocated as follows: 30% (3 billion) for airdrops targeted at Seeker phone users and active dApp users; 25% for ecosystem growth and partnerships; 10% for liquidity support; 10% to the community treasury; 15% to Solana Mobile; and 10% to Solana Labs. This allocation balances community incentives with long-term development.
Seeker Phone Pre-Orders Surge, Packed with Web3 Features
Seeker is Solana Mobile's second Web3 phone, a more affordable successor to the original Saga model. Pre-orders opened in January 2025 and quickly became a hit, accumulating over 150,000 pre-orders. Shipping began in August 2025 to more than 50 countries. Seeker runs on Android and comes with native Web3 features out of the box: a self-custody wallet called Seed Vault, Seeker ID identity system, a Solana dApp store, and a chain-native Genesis Token that grants holders early access to new apps and SKR token rewards. These features significantly lower the barrier to entering the Web3 space.
SKR Token Airdrop and Ecosystem Incentives
The most eye-catching aspect of the SKR launch is the 30% allocation to airdrops. Besides Seeker phone owners, active dApp users on Solana are also eligible. Solana Mobile will share more details about SKR's vision and launch specifics at the Breakpoint 2025 conference in Abu Dhabi from December 11 to 13, 2025. This indicates that Solana Mobile is building a token-economy-driven decentralized application ecosystem, with the Seeker phone serving as a key gateway device.
