BlockBeats reported on June 20 that in the first quarter of 2026, total global upmass from space launches reached approximately 647,000 kilograms, an 18% increase from the same period a year earlier. SpaceX ranked first with 556,000 kilograms, more than 13 times the figure of the second-ranked operator, giving the company about 86% of global launch capacity for the quarter.
Elon Musk commented on the figures, saying: “Once Starship achieves hourly launches, SpaceX’s mass to orbit will be roughly 100 times the sum of all other operators, even if they increase their current launch frequency by three times.” His statement directly compared Starship’s intended high-frequency launch capability with the current operating tempo of other launch providers.
Starship has not yet entered high-frequency commercial operations. Even so, SpaceX has already built an overwhelming lead through its Falcon series. Analysts noted that once Starship is deployed at scale, the global spaceflight landscape will undergo a historic reshaping.
