BlockBeats reported on June 20 that total global launch upmass in the first quarter of 2026 reached approximately 647,000 kilograms, representing an 18% increase year on year. SpaceX led the ranking with 556,000 kilograms, placing it more than 13 times ahead of the second-ranked operator. On that basis, the company accounted for about 86% of global launch capacity during the quarter.
Musk Points to Starship’s Hourly Launch Scenario
Elon Musk commented on the figures by saying: “Once Starship achieves hourly launches, SpaceX’s mass to orbit will be about 100 times that of all other operators combined, even if they triple their current launch frequency.” His remarks focused on the scale of orbital delivery that SpaceX says could follow Starship mass production and high-frequency operations.
Starship has not yet entered high-frequency commercial operations. According to the report, SpaceX has already built an overwhelming advantage through its Falcon series. Analysts cited in the report said that if Starship is deployed at scale, the global spaceflight landscape would undergo a historic reshaping.
