On July 16, Florida-based SRM Entertainment announced a corporate rebranding, officially changing its name to Tron Inc. and adopting the ticker symbol “TRON” on the Nasdaq Capital Market, effective July 17, 2025. The move marks a complete strategic pivot from a theme park merchandise manufacturer to a crypto treasury management firm.
Rebranding Details and Strategic Shift
According to the company statement, the name change aligns with its new focus on managing a treasury composed primarily of TRX tokens (the native cryptocurrency of the TRON blockchain). The company confirmed that its CUSIP number (85237B101) remains unchanged, and all legal registrations stay intact. Simultaneously, Tron Inc. continues to operate its wholly-owned subsidiary that designs, develops, and manufactures custom toys and souvenirs for major global theme parks, including Walt Disney Parks, Universal, Seaworld, and Six Flags.
CEO Rich Miller commented: “We believe TRX will continue to play a critical role in building the next-generation global payment railroad and a more inclusive financial infrastructure with low-cost, 24/7 fast transaction capability.” He emphasized that the rebranding is a key step toward enhancing long-term shareholder value.
Massive TRX Holdings and Stock Surge
Tron Inc. claims to be the largest publicly traded corporate holder of TRX in the world. As of the announcement date, the company holds over 365 million TRX tokens, valued at approximately $110.46 million using current exchange rates. Since initially revealing this treasury strategy, the company's stock price has skyrocketed: up 1,270% year-to-date and more than 55% in the past month alone.
The surge mirrors the market's enthusiasm for corporate altcoin treasuries, following the playbook of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) which saw massive gains from its Bitcoin treasury. Tron Inc. is essentially substituting Bitcoin with TRX, betting on the token's low fees and high throughput to attract future adoption in global payments.
Risks and Opportunities Ahead
Investors now face a hybrid story: a crypto-treasury bet welded to a theme park merchandise supplier. The future performance may depend less on branding and more on risk controls around TRX custody, liquidity, and accounting. While the traditional merchandise business provides steady cash flow, the volatile nature of TRX could amplify both gains and losses.
Market analysts note that if TRX continues to appreciate, Tron Inc. could become a benchmark for altcoin corporate treasuries. However, any significant price correction could severely impact the company's balance sheet. Following the rebranding news, TRX saw a modest 2.5% uptick, reflecting cautious optimism.
