Stand With Crypto, the Coinbase-backed crypto advocacy group, said it is endorsing 32 incumbent congressional candidates in the November midterm elections, according to Reuters. All 32 backed the crypto industry’s top legislative priority last year by voting to advance the CLARITY Act out of the House, though the bill has since stalled in the Senate because of opposition from some lawmakers. The endorsement list includes Republican Representatives Tom Emmer and Bill Huizenga, along with Democratic Representatives Ritchie Torres and Josh Gottheimer, all seen as key allies of the crypto sector. Some of the endorsed candidates are facing closely contested races. Executive Director Mason Lynaugh said the group proved in 2024 that crypto voters are real and plans to show in 2026 that they can be organized into a voting bloc capable of affecting election outcomes. Stand With Crypto was launched by Coinbase in 2023 and says it now has more than 3 million registered advocates. The crypto industry spent $170 million backing congressional candidates in 2024, with most winners going on to help pass the GENIUS Act on stablecoin regulation. In the current midterm cycle, the sector has already put nearly $200 million to work through channels including the Fairshake super PAC.

All 32 candidates voted last year to move the CLARITY Act, the crypto industry’s top legislative priority, out of the House. The bill is now stalled in the Senate because some lawmakers oppose it.

The list includes Republican Representatives Tom Emmer and Bill Huizenga, as well as Democratic Representatives Ritchie Torres and Josh Gottheimer, all of whom have been key allies of the crypto industry. Some of the candidates on the list are in highly competitive races.

Mason Lynaugh, executive director of Stand With Crypto, said: 「In 2024 we proved that crypto voters are real. In 2026, we want to show organizational muscle, and that our advocates are a voting bloc that can truly affect outcomes.」

Stand With Crypto was launched by Coinbase in 2023. Rather than relying on large-scale campaign spending, the group says it seeks to influence elections by mobilizing voters. It currently says it has more than 3 million registered advocates.

In 2024, the crypto industry spent $170 million backing congressional candidates. Most of those candidates won, and that support helped push Congress to pass the GENIUS Act, a stablecoin regulation bill.

In the current midterm election cycle, the crypto industry has already committed nearly $200 million through channels including the Fairshake super PAC as it looks to maintain and strengthen its influence in Congress.
