Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) upgraded the network’s core architecture on July 16 and added MoneyGram, Figure Markets, and Range as Tier 1 validator nodes, with integration expected to be completed by mid-August. According to CryptoBriefing, Tier 1 validators sit at the top of Stellar’s consensus trust hierarchy and must run geographically distributed nodes while maintaining uptime above 99.9%. The report said this layer has historically been dominated by organizations closely tied to SDF. Bringing in three outside commercial institutions is expected to improve the network’s geographic diversity and fault tolerance. The change points to a broader validator mix at the highest trust tier of the Stellar network, while keeping the focus on operational reliability and multi-region node deployment.
