Strive Asset Management bought 1,110 BTC for about $81.5 million, raising its total Bitcoin holdings to 21,356 BTC, according to a post by Bitcoin News on X. At a Bitcoin price of about $80,000, those holdings are worth roughly $1.7 billion. The report said that makes Strive the seventh-largest public company by Bitcoin treasury holdings.
Purchase completed between Aug. 17 and Aug. 21
A filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission shows that Strive completed the purchase between Aug. 17 and Aug. 21. Including fees and related costs, the average purchase price was $73,409 per Bitcoin.
The latest purchase increased Strive’s Bitcoin position by about 5.5% from its previous 20,246 BTC. Strive CEO Matt Cole also posted on X that the company had added 1,110 BTC at an average cost of $73,409, bringing total holdings to 21,356 BTC.
Capital raised through stock issuance
Strive said it funded its Bitcoin reserve strategy through additional issuance of ASST common stock and SATA preferred stock.
During the same period, the company’s Class A share count increased by about 3.65 million shares to 79.89 million, and it issued 441,313 shares of SATA preferred stock. Because the share count also rose, total Bitcoin holdings were up about 5.5%, while Bitcoin per fully diluted share increased only about 1.4%.
Earlier Bitcoin purchases in August and June
Before this latest transaction, Strive bought 147 BTC in August at an average price of more than $64,800 per coin. It later bought another 79 BTC at an average price of $63,231, for a combined 226 BTC across the two purchases.
In June, Strive purchased 2,500 BTC for $185.2 million, lifting its holdings to 19,000 BTC.
Cash balance and preferred stock details
As of Aug. 21, Strive’s cash and cash equivalents increased from about $154.8 million to $171.9 million. SATA preferred stock was priced at about $100, and its annualized dividend rate was raised to 13% in April.
