Strive shares jump after company adds 1,110 BTC in its biggest weekly purchase in months

Strive, Inc. said it bought 1,110 bitcoin last week, lifting its corporate treasury to 21,356 BTC, according to a Monday filing. The Dallas-based company paid an average of about $73,409 per coin, including fees and expenses, for a total purchase price of roughly $81.5 million. After the disclosure, Strive’s Nasdaq-listed shares under the ticker ASST traded more than 7% higher on Monday. The filing said the purchases were made between Aug. 17 and Aug. 21 and were funded with proceeds from at-the-market offerings of ASST and SATA shares. Strive also reported cash and cash equivalents of $171.9 million, up from $154.1 million in July. The latest buy increased the company’s bitcoin holdings by about 5.5% from the 20,246 BTC it reported in mid-August. Bitcoin Magazine said the move marked a sharp pickup in buying activity. Strive had purchased 147 BTC between Aug. 3 and Aug. 7 at an average price just above $64,800, then another 79 BTC the following week at $63,231. Last week’s total was more than five times those two earlier rounds combined. The report also said Strive now ranks as the seventh-largest public corporate bitcoin holder.

Strive outpaces Strategy as Bitcoin treasury firms split on leverage, payouts and buying pace

Strive has emerged as one of the few publicly traded Bitcoin treasury companies still regularly disclosing purchases at a time when the sector is splitting more sharply. Over the last four trading days, Strive rose about 54%, ahead of Strategy’s roughly 32% gain, after Bitcoin rebounded from around $62,000 to above $80,000. The rally comes as Strategy, the largest player in the space, has shifted away from a pure buy-and-hold posture and sold nearly 7,000 BTC since late June, while a sizable share of treasury names now trade below net asset value and some have slowed accumulation or cut leverage. Strive’s model looks different in several ways. As of Aug. 21, the company held 21,356 BTC, 505,000 shares of Strategy’s STRC preferred stock valued at about $48.57 million, and roughly $171.9 million in cash. It funds itself through at-the-market equity issuance in common stock ASST and perpetual preferred stock SATA, which carries a 13% annual dividend and was changed in June 2026 into what the article describes as the first U.S.-listed security to pay dividends daily. The company says it operates with no debt, no margin and no pledged Bitcoin. Its structure has also brought dilution concerns, with one August week showing that a 5.48% increase in Bitcoin holdings translated into only about 1.73% growth in Bitcoin value per common share under the CEBE measure.

Strive CEO Matt Cole says Feb. 19 marked ASST's bear market bottom

Strive Chairman and CEO Matt Cole said in a post that Feb. 19 marked the bear market bottom for the company’s stock, ASST. Cole said that at the time, Strive’s CFO, CLO, several executives, and directors bought shares in the public market, while three independent directors moved into full-time roles within six months. He said the company remained highly confident in its Bitcoin exposure, its leveraged structure, and the team’s chemistry, even as outside sentiment was weak. Cole added that internal morale was strong at the time and that the company’s execution over the following six months validated that conviction. He said that although ASST has now rallied and broader market sentiment has improved, the team’s focus has not changed. In his view, the Bitcoin bull market is only beginning, and Strive has already built the corresponding leveraged structure and plans to press ahead fully. Market data cited in the report shows ASST has gained more than 50% over the past four trading days and currently has a market capitalization of about $1.686 billion.

Strive CEO Says the Crypto Bear Market Is Over, Sees Bitcoin's Strongest Cycle Ahead

Strive CEO Matt Cole says the Bitcoin bear market is over and argues that the next cycle could be the strongest yet. His case rests on three linked forces: a possible long-term decline in the U.S. dollar, an AI-driven shift toward durable scarcity, and a BTC/gold ratio that he sees as an early signal of Bitcoin regaining leadership over gold. Cole says Bitcoin has already broken out against both the dollar and gold, even as he expects a pullback to remain possible. He also lays out how Strive is positioned for that view. The company uses no debt, no margin requirements and no structures that could trigger forced liquidation. Cole says the goal is to maximize ASST’s exposure to Bitcoin upside while keeping capital discipline intact. During the bear market, Strive kept buying Bitcoin nearly every week, which he says gave the structure a real-world test. Cole argues that the bigger question is not simply whether Bitcoin rises, but how much of a growing scarcity-asset pool it can capture relative to gold and other hard assets. In his view, that mix could create an environment Bitcoin has never had before.
