Odaily reported that Taiko posted on X confirming that its chain state validation mechanism has been compromised. According to Taiko, the security assumptions for all cross-chain bridges deployed on Taiko are no longer reliable. The statement directly affects users with funds in bridges built on the Taiko network.
Taiko said it is coordinating with its security council and ecosystem partners to contain the situation. The team also stated that it is pausing affected systems and taking both technical and legal actions. As an immediate user-facing instruction, Taiko strongly advised all users to withdraw funds from cross-chain bridges deployed on Taiko.
The project also issued an urgent request to centralized exchanges, asking them to suspend TAIKO token deposit services until further official notice is provided. The notice follows an earlier incident in which the Taiko ERC20 Vault was attacked, with losses exceeding $1 million.
