FinTechOn 2026 and AFA Summit put stablecoins and regulation on the agenda

The highest-profile international policy and industry forum among the four events is FinTechOn 2026 and the AFA Summit, scheduled for Sept. 2 and Sept. 3. This year’s agenda centers on four themes: regulatory trends, global supply chains, AI and stablecoins.

The first group of announced speakers includes Visa Global Vice President Pei Sheng, Ripple APAC Senior Director Jack Cullinane, Binance APAC Head SB Seker, JPMorgan Securities Services APAC Product Head Christina Fienga, European Commission adviser Peter Kerstens, ADGM Head of FinTech Brian Byagaba, and SBI Holdings Chief Technology Officer Lin Gefei.

Organizers also said the inaugural AFA Summit last year drew participation from traditional finance and crypto companies including Visa, Mastercard, Tether and Ripple.

AFA Awards and the Trustworthy AI Hackathon

The first AFA Awards, set for Sept. 1, was created by fintech associations from 16 Asian economies as a cross-border platform for selecting unicorn companies. The process uses invitation-only nominations. A total of 88 nominations will compete for five awards, and the final top 10 companies will face a live final round during the ceremony.

The Trustworthy AI Hackathon opens the series on Aug. 29 and runs through Aug. 31 at N24 Taipei Ark. Its focus is identity verification, authorization management and accountability tracing for AI agents.

FUTUREMODE expands beyond blockchain

FUTUREMODE Taiwan, the final event in the sequence, will run from Sept. 4 to Sept. 6 at the Taipei Expo Dome. The event was previously known as Taipei Blockchain Week. This year it is organized by Onboard with Google Cloud as co-organizer, and its positioning has expanded from blockchain to AI and other emerging technologies. Organizers estimate attendance will exceed 10,000 participants.

Registration details and full agendas for the four events are available through the organizers’ official websites, according to the source material.
