According to TechFlow, Tether announced on June 10 that it is leading the Series C financing round for humanoid robotics company NEURA Robotics. The round could reach up to $1.4 billion, making it one of the largest private financings in the robotics and “physical AI” sector. The deal places Tether’s infrastructure and payment technology alongside a company focused on robotics products and real-world automation systems.
Tether backs a multi-form cognitive robotics company
NEURA Robotics is described as a multi-form cognitive robotics company. Its product range covers humanoid robots, robotic arms, autonomous mobile robots and service robots. The company has also built an enterprise customer pipeline and a global network of industrial partners. The input notes that some strategic partners also joined the round as co-investors.
Tether said its role will go beyond providing capital. The company plans to deploy core technologies into the NEURA ecosystem, including its open-source Wallet Development Kit, or WDK, and its edge AI runtime, QVAC. In this financing, Tether is linking its technical stack to NEURA’s robotics ecosystem, rather than presenting the investment as a purely financial participation.
WDK is designed to support self-custodial wallets inside robots
Under Tether’s description, WDK will embed self-custodial wallet functionality into robots. This would allow machines to receive micropayments directly after completing tasks, execute transactions, and automate economic behavior under preset rules. Tether frames this function as part of a “machine payment layer,” connecting robotic task completion with payment and settlement capabilities.
The disclosed information shows two main components in the cooperation. The first is the Series C financing of up to $1.4 billion for NEURA Robotics. The second is the planned deployment of Tether’s WDK and QVAC technologies into the NEURA ecosystem. Within the stated themes of the “machine economy” and “physical AI” infrastructure, the collaboration centers on robotics products, enterprise adoption channels, global industrial partnerships and payment functions that machines can execute within predefined conditions.
