According to Bangkok Post, Thai police and relevant departments carried out a joint operation across five provinces in the country’s northeast, raiding 14 locations and seizing 315 cryptocurrency mining machines. The equipment was suspected of being used for crypto mining through illegal electricity connections and tampered power meters.
Power losses totaled about 40.38 million baht
The reported electricity losses amounted to approximately 40.38 million baht, equivalent to about 8.3 million yuan. That total included 5.38 million baht in electricity violation fines and about 35 million baht in unpaid electricity charges.
The operation was conducted by Thai police together with related authorities, with inspections spanning multiple northeastern provinces. The seized 315 machines were linked to alleged power theft for mining operations, with the case centered on illegal wiring, meter tampering and the resulting unpaid electricity costs.
