TOKEN2049 Dubai, originally scheduled for April 29-30, 2026, has been abruptly postponed to April 21-22, 2027, organizers announced on March 13. The decision came after Iranian drone and missile strikes hit multiple locations in Dubai, escalating security concerns.

Just four days earlier, on March 9, the conference had publicly confirmed it would go ahead. The rapid deterioration of the security situation forced the reversal. Existing tickets remain valid and can be transferred to the Singapore edition.

Iran Launched 174 Ballistic Missiles and 689 Drones

Earlier this month, Iran struck the UAE with 174 ballistic missiles (161 intercepted) and 689 drones (645 intercepted), causing explosions across Dubai. Dubai International Airport was hit by a drone, injuring four people. The Fairmont The Palm hotel area also reported blasts. Dubai, long seen as a politically stable haven, saw its safe image shattered.

The impact rippled through finance and crypto. Citi, Deloitte, and PwC have closed Dubai offices or evacuated staff. Some executives chartered private jets at a cost of $250,000 to leave. According to online reports, most high-net-worth individuals have fled the city.

TON Foundation also canceled its planned Dubai events.
