TON Tech has released Agentic Wallets, an open and non-custodial standard that lets Telegram-based AI agents hold and spend TON within user-set limits, without requiring approval for every transaction.

TON Tech rolled out Agentic Wallets on April 28, 2026, introducing an open standard that gives AI agents on Telegram the ability to hold and spend TON after a one-time user approval. The release targets a long-standing limitation for autonomous agents: they could analyze, recommend, and organize actions, yet they lacked a practical way to execute onchain transactions without either full key access or repeated confirmation from the user.

Dedicated wallets put limits around each agent’s spending

Under the model, every agent gets its own onchain wallet funded directly by the user. Ownership remains anchored to the user’s main wallet, while the agent can only transact within the balance assigned to it. Access can be revoked at any time, and funds never pass through a custodian. That structure lets users allocate separate budgets to separate agents instead of exposing a full wallet to automated software.

The setup is meant to be light. A user asks an agent to create a wallet, funds that wallet, and confirms the arrangement once. After that, the agent can handle routine actions inside its approved scope without waiting for transaction-by-transaction prompts. That is the operational shift TON Tech is trying to make possible.

Telegram’s bot network becomes the distribution layer

TON Tech positions Telegram as the natural environment for the standard. The platform already has bot infrastructure and bot-to-bot communication, with a user base of more than 1 billion. By adding Agentic Wallets, bots inside Telegram chats can move beyond messaging and recommendation tasks and start making payments directly while interacting with onchain services.

For developers, that opens use cases that were previously awkward to build. Trading bots can execute within fixed budgets. DeFi agents can manage staking and portfolios through isolated wallets. Automated payments for subscriptions or API usage can also be handled without routing money through a third-party custodian. The emphasis is not on unlimited access; it is on bounded automation.

No TON wallet upgrade required

The new standard integrates with existing TON infrastructure and does not require upgrades to current TON wallets. TON Tech also says the framework avoids vendor lock-in, allowing developers to implement and manage agent configurations on their own. It ships with MCP and CLI tools and is compatible with leading AI models and agent frameworks, which lowers the barrier for deployment across different development stacks.

For users, the model supports running multiple agents at the same time, each with its own isolated wallet and spending cap. Recurring payments and budget-limited automation can be assigned out and left to run within preset constraints. Andrew Grekov, Head of TON Tech, said agents on Telegram can now do more than communicate: they can make payments and interact with onchain services on behalf of users without ever touching the users’ keys.

TON Tech describes Agentic Wallets as fully non-custodial and open-source. The company built and maintains the standard as part of The Open Platform, the group developing Web3 infrastructure inside Telegram.
