In a video address at the Digital Asset Summit on March 20, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump laid out an ambitious agenda to position the United States as the undisputed global leader in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. The speech marked a stark departure from the previous administration’s approach, signaling a full embrace of digital assets at the highest level of government.
‘Bitcoin Superpower’ Vision
“Together we will make America the undisputed bitcoin superpower and the crypto capital of the world,” Trump declared. He highlighted the recent White House Digital Asset Summit, where top crypto executives met with White House AI and Crypto Czar David Sacks. The president framed cryptocurrency as a cornerstone of future U.S. economic growth, arguing that innovation in this sector must be nurtured rather than stifled.
To maximize the government’s existing holdings, Trump announced the creation of a strategic bitcoin reserve and a U.S. digital asset stockpile. He sharply criticized the Biden administration for “foolishly selling them for a fraction of their long-term value,” promising that his administration would retain and expand these assets. “It was exactly what Biden did — a disgrace,” he said.
On the regulatory front, Trump vowed to end what he described as the previous administration’s “regulatory war on crypto,” including a halt to Operation Choke Point 2.0. “It was a form of lawfare through government weaponization. Frankly, it was a disgrace,” he said, emphasizing that such policies ended on January 20, 2025 — his first day in office.
Call for Legislative Clarity
Trump called on Congress to pass legislation establishing clear rules for stablecoins and market structure. He argued that a robust legal framework would allow institutions to invest and innovate freely, unleashing “an explosion of economic growth.” The president’s remarks were met with enthusiasm from attendees, who see regulatory clarity as the key to attracting mainstream capital.
“Crypto will drive financial innovation in the U.S., and it’s going to be right here in the USA, the good old USA,” Trump concluded. Since taking office, Trump has signed multiple executive orders supporting the crypto industry, including the creation of a Presidential Working Group on Digital Assets and pushing for stablecoin legislation. This address at the Digital Asset Summit solidifies his administration’s pro-crypto stance and sets the stage for transformative policy changes expected in 2026.
