On-chain analyst Ai Yi said two wallets suspected to belong to the same whale entity have transferred their entire 33,180.48 ETH position back to exchanges, after holding the tokens since November 2023. The wallets originally withdrew the ETH from Bitfinex at an average price of $2,002.75, according to the monitoring data cited by ChainCatcher. During the holding period, the position’s peak unrealized profit reportedly reached $89.145 million. Five hours before the report, both wallets deposited all of the ETH into exchanges at a transfer price of $2,620. If the holdings are sold at that level, the estimated profit would be $20.481 million. The report did not name the exchanges that received the deposits, but said the two addresses were likely controlled by the same whale.
