U.S. growth momentum accelerated in August, according to figures cited by BlockBeats. The S&P Global U.S. Composite PMI rose 1.5 points to 56.0, its highest reading since April 2022, marking a third straight month of expansion. Within that, the services PMI increased 2.2 points to 56.8, the strongest level since March 2022, while the manufacturing PMI slipped 0.7 points to 53.9, its lowest in five months, though it remained in expansion territory. Hiring also picked up, led by the services sector, with companies adding staff at the fastest pace since January 2025. The data points to an annualized U.S. GDP growth rate of +3.0% in the third quarter of 2026, up from +1.5% in the second quarter. The report said artificial intelligence is driving what it described as a historic wave of growth.
