According to ChainCatcher, citing Jinshi data, the US Dollar Index, which measures the greenback against six major currencies, settled at 99.2 in late New York trading on June 1, gaining 0.3% for the day.
Among the major pairs, EUR/USD slipped to 1.1631 from 1.1664 the previous session, while GBP/USD edged down to 1.3458 from 1.3461. The dollar strengthened across the board: USD/JPY rose to 159.76 from 159.26, USD/CHF climbed to 0.7864 from 0.7811, USD/CAD advanced to 1.3842 from 1.3797, and USD/SEK traded at 9.3059, up from 9.2338. All six major currencies lost ground against the dollar on the day.
