ChainCatcher news, citing Jinshi data, reports that the US Dollar Index, which tracks the dollar against six major currencies, gained 0.31% on June 4, ending the trading session at 99.529.

In currency pair details, the euro fell to 1.1598 against the dollar, down from 1.1628 in the prior session; the British pound dropped to 1.3416 from 1.3469. The dollar strengthened against the yen to 160.03 from 159.91, against the Swiss franc to 0.7924 from 0.7873, against the Canadian dollar to 1.3895 from 1.3832, and against the Swedish krona to 9.4065 from 9.3155.

All six currencies in the basket posted a decline against the dollar on the day, underscoring broad greenback strength.
