US government-linked wallet moves 12,267.02 BTC worth about $1.006 billion

On-chain data shows that a wallet labeled "US Government: Bitfinex hacker seized funds" transferred out 12,267.02 BTC around 19 minutes before the report, with the transaction valued at roughly $1.006 billion. Of that amount, 6,000 BTC was sent in two separate transfers to a new address beginning with 33pYK…cFk, while the remaining roughly 6,267 BTC was temporarily parked in another newly created address. The latest movement follows earlier transfers from the same US government-linked address between yesterday and early today. During that period, the address had already moved tokens worth about $670 million, including 6,215.7 BTC valued at about $520 million, 119 million USDT, and 40,285 BNB worth about $31.63 million. According to the report, all of the BTC and USDT from those earlier transfers entered Coinbase Prime.

BlockBeats reported on Oct. 8 that on-chain data showed a wallet labeled "US Government: Bitfinex hacker seized funds" transferred out 12,267.02 BTC around 19 minutes earlier, worth about $1.006 billion.

Of that total, 6,000 BTC was sent in two transfers to a new address starting with 33pYK…cFk. The remaining roughly 6,267 BTC was temporarily held at another new address.

The same US government-linked address had already moved tokens worth about $670 million from yesterday through early today, including:

  • 6,215.7 BTC worth about $520 million;
  • 119 million USDT;
  • 40,285 BNB worth about $31.63 million.

All of the BTC and USDT from those earlier transfers entered Coinbase Prime.
