US July CPI at 3.4% YoY, Core CPI at 2.5%, Both Match Expectations

The U.S. July unadjusted CPI rose 3.4% year-over-year, in line with the 3.4% forecast and down from 3.50% prior. The unadjusted core CPI matched forecasts at 2.5%, versus 2.60% earlier. Seasonally adjusted core CPI rose 0.2% month-over-month, also in line with the 0.20% estimate and following a flat 0.00%.
