U.S. stocks opened with broad weakness across several AI-linked and infrastructure-related groups on Oct. 7, according to market data from BIT (bit.com). Optical networking names led the declines, with Astera Labs (ALAB) falling 6.46%, followed by Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI), Coherent (COHR), Nokia (NOK), and Credo (CRDO). Neocloud stocks also moved lower across the board, including Hut 8 (HUT), Galaxy Digital (GLXY), Nebius (NBIS), TeraWulf (WULF), Applied Digital (APLD), and CoreWeave (CRWV). Semiconductor shares were mostly down at the open, with Lam Research (LRCX), Arm (ARM), Marvell Technology (MRVL), and AMD all posting losses. Memory stocks were uniformly lower as well, including SK Hynix (SKHY), Western Digital (WDC), Micron Technology (MU), and Seagate Technology (STX).

Semiconductor shares mostly traded lower at the open, with Lam Research (LRCX) down 2.99%, Arm (ARM) off 2.63%, Marvell Technology (MRVL) lower by 1.99%, and AMD down 1.16%.

Memory stocks also posted broad declines. SK Hynix (SKHY) fell 2.60%, Western Digital (WDC) dropped 2.32%, Micron Technology (MU) lost 2.04%, and Seagate Technology (STX) was down 1.46%.
