Odaily reported that, according to monitoring by on-chain analyst Ai Yi, address 0x770…399f2 has closed a WBTC position that moved from a sizable unrealized gain to a loss on exit. The address bought 112.86 WBTC on 04.14, described as the starting point of that market upswing, at an average purchase price of $71,655. The position was valued at about $8.08 million at the time of entry.
Position Closed in Batches After Two Months
The same holding once recorded more than $1 million in unrealized profit in mid-May. However, the address continued to hold rather than taking profit at that stage. Ai Yi’s monitoring showed that address 0x770…399f2 eventually sold the position in batches on 06.16 and again 7 hours before the report, clearing the WBTC at a sale price of $64,723.
Based on the figures disclosed by Ai Yi, the full holding period lasted roughly two months from the April 14 purchase to the final exit. Because the purchase price was higher than the final selling price, the value of the 112.86 WBTC position was 10% lower than at the time of entry. WBTC is an on-chain asset related to Bitcoin, and large transactions by whale addresses are commonly used to track changes in major on-chain holdings.
