According to TechFlow on June 15, WEEX announced that it has released a fully upgraded API interface. The upgraded API now supports more than 140 trading pairs across cryptocurrencies, US stocks, crude oil and gold markets, expanding platform access from crypto trading to a broader range of asset categories.
More Than 140 Trading Pairs Across Asset Classes
WEEX said the upgrade allows users to access all supported asset markets through a single entry point. The exchange described the API as serving multiple use cases, including quantitative strategies, automated trading and portfolio allocation. By bringing crypto, US stocks, crude oil and gold market access into one API framework, the platform presents the update as a way for users to connect to different trading categories without relying on separate systems for each asset type.
On the technical side, the WEEX API supports both REST and WebSocket interfaces. The platform said the upgraded interface offers high-speed matching and ultra-low latency performance. WEEX also stated that the API is compatible with the Binance API, which can reduce system migration costs for strategy teams that need to adapt existing trading infrastructure. The announcement centers on three elements: broader trading-pair coverage, performance features and compatibility for teams moving their systems to the updated interface.
