ChainCatcher reported that, according to monitoring by on-chain analyst Yu Jin, a whale address carried out a SOL purchase on-chain over the past three hours. The address used 16.555 million USDC to buy 234,900 SOL, with an average purchase price of $70.5.
The monitored transaction took place within the same three-hour window. The report said the whale’s buying helped push SOL up by 2% over the past three hours. The key disclosed figures are the size of the USDC used, the amount of SOL purchased, the average entry price, and SOL’s price movement during that period.
In crypto market terminology, a “whale” generally refers to an address with a large amount of capital or trading size. USDC is a commonly used dollar-denominated stablecoin in crypto markets, while SOL is the ticker for the Solana ecosystem asset. The report did not disclose the identity of the address or mention any additional trading arrangement.
