According to Techub News and on-chain monitoring by @OnchainLens, a whale address recently moved its entire holding of 9,000 ether to the centralized exchange Bitfinex. The transfer was valued at roughly $17.86 million at the time of the transaction. After holding the assets for five years, the address sold and locked in a profit of about $14.37 million.

On-chain data reveals that the same address originally acquired 10,000 ETH for a total cost of approximately $4.63 million. Previously, 1,000 ETH had been routed through the mixer TornadoCash and eventually deposited on Kraken for sale. The 9,000 ETH sent to Bitfinex represent the remaining portion of this initial purchase, marking a complete liquidation of the address’s ether position.

The large transfer was flagged by on-chain surveillance tools, underscoring the exit of a multi-year holder who realized substantial gains. With the final batch moved to Bitfinex, the address has fully closed its ether investment cycle, achieving a total profit estimated at $14.37 million across all sales.
