WhiteBIT EU said it has secured authorization under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) in Austria, with approval granted by the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA). The authorization allows the company to provide regulated crypto-asset services to eligible users across the European Economic Area under the MiCAR regime.
Austria approval anchors WhiteBIT EU’s EEA expansion plan
The company described the Austrian authorization as a key step in its European growth strategy and said it reflects a commitment to operating within a transparent, secure, and harmonized regulatory framework. MiCAR sets a common EU rulebook for crypto-asset service providers, covering governance, transparency, client protection, and market integrity. For an exchange, that means a substantive regulatory review rather than a simple filing.
WhiteBIT added that Austria is a jurisdiction known for established financial supervisory standards. Securing approval there strengthens its regulated position in Europe and supports the planned rollout of crypto-asset services across the EEA, subject to applicable passporting, onboarding, and other regulatory requirements.
Company links approval to its long-term European strategy
Volodymyr Nosov, Founder and President of W Group, said WhiteBIT was originally founded as a European exchange and that Europe remains central to its long-term vision. He said MiCA is setting a global benchmark for digital asset regulation and that the authorization reinforces WhiteBIT’s commitment to building a transparent, secure, and compliant crypto ecosystem for users across the region.
According to the announcement, the new Austrian MiCA license consolidates WhiteBIT’s efforts under a single regulatory framework. The company said this structure will enable it to serve millions of European retail and institutional clients with compliant and accessible crypto services, though it did not specify which countries or products will be prioritized at launch.
whitebit.eu is being prepared for users across the EEA
As part of its transition into the MiCA framework, WhiteBIT is preparing to launch whitebit.eu, a dedicated platform designed for users across the EEA. The company said the site will act as its regulated hub for the European market and provide compliant access to its products and services under the MiCA framework.
New users who want to join whitebit.eu can already register their interest through a form on the website and will be among the first to receive updates once the platform becomes available. The announcement did not include a launch date or a detailed list of features and trading services planned for the initial release.
