ChainCatcher, citing The Block, reported that Bernstein analysts said the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the biggest catalyst the prediction market industry has seen so far. According to the firm’s estimate, the tournament is expected to generate more than $3 billion in incremental betting volume and add $5 billion to $10 billion in consumer prediction market trading volume.
Bernstein had previously projected that the prediction market industry would reach $1 trillion in annual trading volume by 2030. For 2026 alone, the firm expects annual trading volume to reach $240 billion, with World Cup-related activity included as part of that growth outlook.
At the platform level, Bernstein analysts said DraftKings, Robinhood and Coinbase are among the companies expected to benefit significantly from the World Cup. The firm specifically estimated that Robinhood’s prediction market business revenue could grow 286% year over year in 2026. The assessment places major sports events within Bernstein’s broader view of consumer prediction market activity and related platform revenue growth.
