World has announced partnerships with Zoom and Tinder, tying access to a “Verified Human” badge to its Orb iris-scanning device. At the same time, the company introduced Concert Kit, a software package for ticketing platforms designed to curb bot-driven ticket scalping.

The company, formerly known as Worldcoin, has positioned itself as a builder of digital identity and financial networks. Its pitch is straightforward: as AI-generated content and AI agents spread online, older methods of proving a user is a real person are losing credibility, and biometric verification is being presented as the alternative.

Tinder links World ID to profile badges and free Boosts

On Tinder, the process is relatively simple. Users visit a physical Orb location, complete an iris scan, receive a World ID, and can then display a Verified Human badge on their Tinder profile. As an incentive, Tinder is offering five free Boosts, a feature that temporarily pushes a profile higher in search visibility.

According to the source material, the verification flow has already been tested in Japan and is planned for a wider global rollout. The move pushes identity checks beyond standard profile photos or phone-based verification and into in-person biometric onboarding.

Zoom uses a three-layer face-matching system during calls

The Zoom integration is more involved. World developed a system called World ID Deep Face, which works in three steps: it compares a user against the photo taken when the Orb account was created, performs live face matching from the user’s own device, and then scans the face visible in the actual video meeting feed. The Verified Human badge appears only if all three checks match.

That setup means verification inside Zoom is not limited to a one-time login event. It is tied to the person who appears on camera during the meeting itself, creating an ongoing biometric check linked to the previously established identity record.

Concert Kit extends the same model to ticket purchases

World is also taking the same identity framework into ticketing. Its newly announced Concert Kit is meant for ticketing platforms and is aimed at stopping scalper bots from grabbing tickets. The mechanism follows the same pattern: before a purchase, the user completes the eye scan and then proceeds through a verified buying process.

Viewed together, the partnerships show World trying to place one identity layer across several common internet services, spanning social apps, workplace video calls, and ticket sales.

Debate centers on biometric storage and access dependence

The main concern is not only how the system works, but what it asks users to trust. The report points to an October breach last year at an age-verification provider that exposed ID photos belonging to Discord users. Unlike passwords, biometric traits cannot simply be replaced after a leak.

World’s response is that the Orb keeps only a mathematical hash generated from the scan and does not store the original iris image. Even so, confidence in that claim depends on how much trust users and regulators place in the company’s technical documentation and future decisions.

The structural issue runs deeper. Zoom is a core workplace tool for many organizations, and Tinder is one of the largest dating platforms in the world. If access to full platform functionality becomes more tightly connected to World ID, biometric verification could shift from an option to something closer to a prerequisite.
