Worldcoin has released a new tokenomics update: starting July 24, 2026, the daily unlock rate for WLD tokens will be slashed by 43% — from roughly 5.1 million to 2.9 million tokens per day. The team stressed that the release remains linear with “no unlock cliff.”
Community Unlock Halved, Team & Investor Reductions Follow
The adjustment covers all major allocation buckets. Under the immutable on-chain smart contract, World Community Tokens will see their daily unlock halved to 1.6 million WLD (from 3.2 million). TFH team and investor unlocks drop 32% to 1.3 million WLD (from 1.9 million). Combined, the total daily unlock falls 43%.
Unlike many projects that face cliff events, WLD’s linear release means no single-day supply shock, helping to stabilize market expectations.
Supply Snapshot: Nearly Half Already Unlocked
WLD has a capped supply of 10 billion tokens, with 75% allocated to the community and 25% to team, TFH investors, and reserves. Since the initial unlock of 500 million tokens in July 2023, the remaining 9.5 billion entered a 15-year linear schedule (team and investors voluntarily extended lockups in 2024).
As of April 10, 2026, 4.9 billion WLD (49% of total supply) had been unlocked, of which approximately 3.3 billion were circulating in the market. With the 43% reduction in daily unlocks from July 24, the inflationary pressure from new supply will ease considerably.
Worldcoin’s token WLD responded with a 3% jump, trading at $0.28.
