WTI crude futures pull back, trimming gains to 2.9%

WTI crude futures gave up part of their earlier advance, with gains narrowing to 2.9% and the contract quoted at $90.9 a barrel, according to data cited by Odaily from Gate. Earlier in the move, WTI had risen by more than 5% before the sharp intraday drop. Gate data also showed that both major oil benchmarks fell by $2 in short-term trading. U.S. crude was quoted at $90.24 a barrel, while Brent crude was quoted at $102.34 a barrel. The update captures a quick reversal in energy prices during the session, with WTI retreating from a stronger earlier rise.
