UniSat changes the default mnemonic for new wallets to 24 words
UniSat said in its August 2026 security update that browser extension wallet v1.7.19 has changed the default mnemonic length for newly created wallets from 12 words to 24 words. The update also adjusted the wallet creation process and mnemonic management flow.
The company described the move as a long-term security configuration upgrade. Existing 12-word wallets still comply with the BIP-39 standard, and users do not need to make an urgent migration solely because the default setting has changed. UniSat also said it had taken repair or hardening steps based on the scope of impact after receiving several recent community security reports.

BlackRock head of digital assets Robbie Mitchnick said the firm wants to push that threshold lower over time, with the goal of eventually making the mechanism available to investors of any size.
USDT’s 60-day rolling supply change drops by about $4 billion
USDT’s 60-day rolling supply change has declined by about $4 billion. Of that total, $870 million was reduced in the past 11 days alone.
