XRP Ledger’s Batch V1.1 amendment is one vote short of entering the activation process, according to ChainCatcher.
In Tuesday’s snapshot, the proposal received support from 27 of 35 trusted validators, or about 77%. XRPL amendments require 80% backing, so one additional validator vote would start a two-week activation countdown. Support must stay above that threshold for 14 days, and validators can still change their votes during the period.
What the Batch feature does
The Batch feature lets users combine as many as eight related transactions into a single operation. In a token swap between two parties, for example, it can make sure both transfers complete together, rather than leaving one side paid while the other side fails.
RippleX said its latest review fixed 11 software bugs. The new version was released with xrpld 3.3.0 on Aug. 6.
Earlier proposal did not reach mainnet
Researchers had previously found a flaw in the original Batch proposal. Under certain conditions, an attacker could initiate transactions using another person’s account without authorization. That version was not launched on mainnet.
The latest review identified 11 issues involving signatures, authorization checks, and server crashes. One vulnerability rated critical by security firm Common Prefix could allow an attacker to reuse a user’s signing authority to carry out transactions beyond what the user intended.
Who took part in the review
RippleX said the review involved four senior engineers, audits by Halborn and Common Prefix, a public security competition, and automated testing. The team also said commercial projects using Batch have already been signed or are in development.
