BLUECHIP, a meme token on Base, briefly pushed its market capitalization above $6 million, according to GMGN data. The token was up more than 120% on the day and was later quoted at $5.3 million. The move has been tied to a community-driven narrative around old posts from June 2014 by Cobie, Coinbase’s head of trading products. In those posts, Cobie discussed a token called BlueChip over several days, mentioning price highs, changes in sell orders, and his decision to keep holding. Those historical posts have recently resurfaced in the community, feeding what traders are calling a revival of a “2014 old meme” narrative. Odaily said meme tokens can see sharp price swings and reminded investors to stay alert to the risks.
