Spain's Largest Crypto Exchange Bit2Me Launches Bit2Shield for Crypto Asset Tracing and Seizure

Bit2Me, Spain's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has launched a dedicated company, Bit2Shield (registered as CryptoShield S.L.), to assist courts, police, and financial institutions in tracking, seizing, storing, and selling crypto assets. The unit provides digital forensic reports, fraud investigation, and training for law enforcement and banks. In 2025, Bit2Me handled €1.5 million (approx. $1.74 million) in seized crypto assets for Interpol, Europol, and Spanish police. Bit2Shield uses multi-signature cold wallets and sells assets only on official orders, with proceeds transferred to government accounts. The move marks Bit2Me's expansion from retail trading to institutional infrastructure, backed by investors including Bankinter, Unicaja, Cecabank, Telefónica, and Tether. Bit2Shield is not classified as a crypto service provider under MiCA due to its focus on investigation and training; any crypto-to-fiat conversions are handled by MiCA-licensed entity Bitcoinforme S.L.
