Tate brothers’ lawyers say their crypto wealth claims were exaggerated

Lawyers for Andrew and Tristan Tate told prosecutors and the court that the brothers’ public image of vast wealth, including claims of unrestricted access to traditional funds, cryptocurrency, and BTC, was exaggerated rather than real. In filings tied to their bid for bail, the defense said luxury assets shown on social media were not owned outright: an Aston Martin and a Bugatti Veyron were rented, while yachts featured in their content were part of paid promotions. The lawyers argue that because the US government cannot prove the brothers’ highly publicized wealth claims are genuine, those claims should not be used to show they are a flight risk. Prosecutors take the opposite view. They say the brothers have access to substantial resources, both financial and through their social media networks, and could flee if released. The pair were arrested on July 18 and are fighting extradition to the UK. The BBC reported they could face 59 charges, including rape, trafficking, assault, and offenses tied to child sex-abuse images and extreme pornography. The brothers deny the allegations. The report also revisits Andrew Tate’s crypto record. Romanian court filings suggest he may hold 21 BTC worth about $1.6 million after a 2024 seizure reassessment. Past claims that he made $85 million trading crypto have been widely doubted online, while his memecoin promotions and trading losses on Hyperliquid have added to scrutiny.

Specter flags Kimchi-linked wallet for quick profits after STAR and other token launches

On-chain sleuth Specter said a wallet that Kimchi publicly shared in an X reply in April 2024 appears to be tied to trades made shortly after several token launches. According to the monitoring data, the wallet bought STAR within the same minute of deployment on May 30, 2024, spending 2.96 SOL, or $407, and later sold for $45,600. On June 11, 2024, it bought DADDY ANSEM two minutes after deployment for 4.94 SOL, worth $730, and later sold for $14,600. On June 26, 2024, it bought MUVA one minute after deployment for 2.9 SOL, worth $407, and later sold for $53,000. Specter also said clustering from an exchange deposit address identified five more wallets involved in the same MUVA launch bundle trade. At the same time, Specter said there is currently no verifiable evidence showing that Kimchi made eight-figure U.S. dollar profits from the TRUMP token.

Andrew Tate’s DADDY memecoin trades 97% below peak as UK extradition case advances in Miami

Andrew Tate’s Solana-linked memecoin DADDY was trading around $0.008 on Thursday, down 97% from its 2024 peak of $0.29, according to Protos. The drop came as Tate and his brother Tristan remained in custody at Miami’s Federal Detention Center after US Marshals arrested them on Saturday on a sealed warrant tied to UK extradition proceedings. The brothers were detained outside Miami’s James L. Knight Center while heading to a boxing event Andrew Tate was scheduled to co-host. The UK’s Crown Prosecution Service has authorized 38 additional charges involving four more alleged victims, bringing the total to seven. Andrew Tate faces seven new counts tied to rape, trafficking, assault, child sex-abuse images, and extreme pornography. Tristan Tate faces two rape counts, one sexual assault count, and three trafficking counts. A court hearing took place Monday before Judge Lauren Louis, with another set for July 27. Protos also said DADDY lost more than a quarter of its value in the two days after the arrest and 50% over the past week, leaving its market capitalization below $5 million. Bubblemaps previously found that the token’s deployer sent 40% of total supply to Tate’s wallet.
