ChainFeeds research digest covers Uniswap, Farcaster, Niulai meme frenzy and Hyperliquid

ChainFeeds’ Aug. 19 research digest pulls together five separate narratives shaping crypto and adjacent tech markets. The package starts with Uniswap founder hayden.eth arguing that automated market makers are still early and may gain their biggest edge in correlated trading pairs, where inventory risk is lower and liquidity can form naturally around asset clusters rather than defaulting to dollar pairs. IOSG Ventures then questions whether Model Fusion actually improves production economics, saying higher benchmark scores do not by themselves prove better ROI once token costs, latency and shared-model failure modes are counted. The digest also tracks the rapid deterioration of Farcaster’s business position. After Merkle Manufactory handed the protocol, app and Clanker over to Neynar in January and returned $180 million to investors, Neynar is now looking for yet another team to take over just seven months later. In another section, a small animated film titled Niulai became a meme phenomenon: a weak box office run turned into viral online attention, then spilled into BSC, where a same-name meme coin briefly reached a $46.79 million market cap. The final piece argues Hyperliquid is no longer just an onchain perpetuals venue, but a broader trading platform built around HyperCore, HyperEVM, HYPE and HIP-3.

PANews traces the five-stage rise of Niulai meme from obscure film tie-in to $50 million token

PANews has mapped the rise of the BSC-based Niulai meme token alongside the sudden breakout of the Chinese animated film of the same name, arguing that the full story only becomes clear when the Web2 attention cycle and on-chain pricing are read together. Before Aug. 14, the film had been in theaters for nine days and had generated just 7,169 yuan in cumulative box office. By midday on Aug. 19, total box office had climbed past 24.3 million yuan. Over roughly the same period, the token’s market capitalization moved from the tens of thousands of dollars to above $50 million, setting a new all-time high before pulling back. The report breaks that path into five stages: deployment, ignition, viral spread, nationwide discussion, and amplification after entry into Binance Alpha. It says early KOL participation was limited, with more visible positioning appearing after attention had already accelerated. Key timestamps include contract creation on Aug. 13, migration at about $45,100 on Aug. 14, a move above $500,000 early on Aug. 15, breaks above $5 million and $20 million later in the same cycle, and a run toward $50 million as social media clips, official media coverage, cinema-driven participation, A-share name trading, brand parodies, and Binance Alpha access all fed the loop.

On-chain records show the creator of BSC meme coin Niu Lai did not profit from the main token

A meme token sharing the name of the animated film Niu Lai surged on BNB Smart Chain after the movie unexpectedly became a talking point. The token’s market cap briefly reached $46 million, and it rose 139% in 24 hours on Aug. 17, the same day takedown rumors around the film spread widely, according to the source article. Yet on-chain data cited in the report points to a twist: the developer address that launched multiple related tokens did not record a single buy or sell in the main Niu Lai token that became the market leader. The report says the same address launched two versions of Niu Lai within six minutes on Aug. 13, then issued Xiong Zou and Bandao Ti over the following days. Its only meaningful profit came from Bandao Ti, the fourth token, where it bought 37.7% of total supply for $2,180 in the launch transaction and sold across 12 transactions roughly 90 seconds later, taking more than $10,000 in profit. The article also notes an Aug. 18 update saying the creator later launched Niu Lailai and Moo, each generating more than $7,000. Separate addresses appear to have handled the main USDT liquidity pool for Niu Lai. One address created the pool on Aug. 15, while another, described by the source as a frequent liquidity operator with 4,861 on-chain trades, kept adding liquidity and collecting fees and had not exited at the time of writing. The article also says sniping bots grabbed 33.9% of supply at launch and later dispersed the holdings across dozens of addresses.

Viral film 'Niu Lai' pushes A-share 'bull' stocks onto hot lists and fuels meme coin speculation

A surreal Chinese animated film called "Niu Lai" has spilled over from movie chatter into both the stock market and crypto trading. On Aug. 17, while mainland markets were closed for the weekend, A-share companies with the Chinese character for "bull" in their names climbed into the top five of Tonghuashun's hot-stock ranking, with Jinniu Chemical holding the top spot. Gongniu Group and Tongniu Information also appeared on the list. Online discussion quickly turned the movie into a so-called concept theme. Some users posted ticket stubs to show support for the film, while others warned that the related stock talk was purely sentiment-driven and carried clear risk. The movie itself also drew attention for lines and scenes that some investors said felt tailored to retail traders. The surge in attention extended beyond cinema and equities. According to Dengta Professional Edition, the film's box office has climbed from only a few thousand yuan in its early run to RMB 4.648 million, placing it in the top 10 of China's 2026 domestic animation box office chart. On-chain, a meme token with the same name on BNB Chain briefly reached a market cap of $29 million before dropping to $10 million and rebounding to $18.5 million, with 24-hour trading volume at $37.6 million, according to GMGN.
