Base, BSC and Robinhood Drive Weekend Meme Coin Rotation as Cat Tokens Swing Wildly

Meme coins held onto traders’ attention even as the broader crypto market turned choppy after a sharp rally on Thursday and Friday. A fast Coinbase listing for Basecat, a Base ecosystem token with a market capitalization of roughly $9 million at the time of listing, set off a fresh round of cat-themed speculation across chains. That momentum quickly spread to BSC names such as Bicat and BNBCAT, to Solana’s CATE, and to Robinhood chain’s CashCat. According to Odaily, Basecat briefly climbed above $41 million in market capitalization before easing to around $28.8 million, with nearly 20,000 holder addresses at the time of writing. Bicat also saw a sharp burst, moving from below $1 million to roughly $7.4 million before falling back. BNBCAT posted a smaller move, while CashCat traded near $110 million after dropping from a peak above $234 million. CATE was one of the biggest movers in Solana’s meme coin segment, rising from above $35 million on Aug. 21 to more than $91 million at its peak before retreating to about $44 million. Odaily said a disputed post about the real name of a cat adopted by Kabosu Mama appeared to weigh on sentiment. The broader takeaway from the report is that the combination of trading venue, public chain and meme token is increasingly being treated as a standard operating model across major crypto platforms.

Odaily flags YOMOGI as a trending BSC meme token with a $410,000 market cap

Odaily’s Meme Express monitor said YOMOGI is drawing active discussion across the BSC community, with GMGN showing a current market capitalization of $410,000. The attention appears tied to a post published by Eno on Aug. 23, which said the newly adopted cat of “Kabosu Mama,” the owner of Kabosu — the Shiba Inu known as the original Doge — is named Yomogi. Eno added that the detail came from the contents of a publication that had leaked in advance. Separately, a community discussion circulated the line, “Can this time let Doge mom’s story happen on BSC?” Odaily said Meme Express uses its proprietary AI model to screen community-discussed meme candidates. The outlet also noted that the content is compiled from public information and does not constitute investment advice, while warning readers about the high volatility risks tied to meme coins.

SOL meme coin CATE briefly tops $9.5 million market cap after viral cat video

GMGN data showed that CATE, a meme coin on Solana, briefly pushed its market capitalization above $9.5 million after surging more than 230x on the day, before falling back to $7.09 million. The token’s momentum was tied to a newly posted rescue kitten video from @kabosumama, the owner of DOGE. After the clip spread, community user @HimothyGoggins reposted it and speculated that the cat’s name was “Hiromi,” though that claim was not confirmed by Kabosu’s owner. Later, @thedevrrrrrrr suggested that the community should “run CATE like DOGE,” and the token was quickly launched on Pump.fun, drawing fresh attention. There is currently no evidence that the cat is actually named Hiromi, and there has been no official confirmation that its name is CATE. The name CATE instead traces back to an earlier “Cate” cat meme that was reused by the community in this latest episode. The token is not an official coin from Kabosu’s owner and is not based on the cat’s confirmed real name. Market participants also warned that meme coins can see sharp price swings and carry elevated risk.
